26/11/2026 Events and activities in Valencia for the December long weekend
Planning a getaway to Valencia during the December bank holiday weekend? You're in luck: the city combines the charm of the Christmas atmosphere, family activities, and a vibrant cultural scene.
At Monlar, we want you to experience Valencia like you're at home , with comfortable and well-located accommodations. Our goal is simple: to put Valencia at your fingertips!
Valencia Marathon: the great plan for Sunday
On Sunday of the long weekend comes the Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Zurich Marathon , a fast circuit with the finish line in the spectacular City of Arts and Sciences .
The 2025 edition will be held on Sunday, December 7th at 8:15 am , with wave starts.
Experiencing the finish on the walkway over the water is an unforgettable experience, both for the runners and for those who accompany them.
Monlar Council:
If you're participating in the marathon, book in advance . There are road closures and high demand for accommodation in the city during that weekend.
Ice rink and lights in the center
In the Town Hall Square you will find the classic ice rink and carousel , an ideal plan for families or for those who want to start the Christmas spirit in a big way.
We recommend checking the updated schedules and prices before your visit, as they may vary depending on holiday dates.
Municipal nativity scenes and tradition
Christmas in Valencia is also experienced through its nativity scenes . The nativity scene in the Crystal Hall of the City Hall and the monumental outdoor nativity scene are two of the most visited during December.
Each year, the opening dates and times are announced in advance, so we advise you to follow the official City Council channels so you don't miss them.
Culture: exhibitions and music to enjoy indoors
If it gets chilly or you simply fancy a cultural outing, Valencia offers a wide range of exhibitions, concerts and guided tours .
The official Visit València agenda brings together all the proposals, filtered by day and type of activity.
Furthermore, if you extend your stay for a few more days, CaixaForum València will inaugurate the exhibition “Music and mathematics. A sound journey from chaos to cosmos” on December 10 , as part of its 2025–2026 cultural program.
